Twice a year Moray House Trust commemorates the work of Martin Carter, Guyana’s national poet. This December, we feature a recital of a short suite of poems.
The Hidden Man (Other Poems of Prison) was the second collection of poetry to be self-published by Martin Carter in Georgetown in 1952. He worked as Secretary to the Superintendent of Prison at the time.
The poems are:

5: I Walk and Walk
6: Till I Collect
7: No Madness Like this Sanity
The recital will be published on the Moray House Trust YouTube Channel and accompanied by commentary from Gemma Robinson, editor of Martin Carter’s University of Hunger: Collected Poems and Selected Prose (2006).
