Saturday 7th June 2025 marked the 98th birth anniversary of Martin Carter, Guyana’s national poet. 
The Trust hosted a live reading of some of his poems at Moray House Trust to mark the occasion. Dr Gemma Robinson selected poems with ‘tree’ references from Martin’s oeuvre and prepared an introductory note to explain her selection and to provide a little context to his work. This was a rare opportunity to hear a blend of Martin’s iconic and lesser known poems. Warm thanks to our readers and to those who attended.
