You are warmly invited to join us for a poetry recital to celebrate the work of the late Ian McDonald. The late Ian McDonald once described A.J Seymour as a ‘one-man cultural task force.‘ The characterisation fits Ian. He undertook and executed countless cultural projects and publications with a quiet and steely determination. In between this careful nurturing of culture and the demands of a career and family, he found the time to read voraciously and to write poems consistently throughout his long life.
Ian was a steadfast supporter of Moray House Trust from its inception and our programme has been enriched by his guidance and participation over the years. We invite you to join us as we celebrate Ian’s contribution to Guyanese culture by reading a selection of his poems.
Please note that this is a ticketed event as we have limited capacity. In order to avoid disappointment, we suggest that you obtain your tickets in advance of the recital.
